Peek inside Robert Sever's showroom

Two weeks ago I was at Robert Sever's fashion show and it's a little to say that I was amazed. Not just that he created 61 looks, but after 5 years he finally put out a new menswear collection. Retro patterns, flowy dresses and chic looks are main features of the Kristina collection (Sever usually names his collections by significant women who are his inspiration). I won't go in details about the runway show because my fellow blogger Adriana Kupresak already wrote an amazing post about it, so check it out here RUNWAY REVIEW: ROBERT SEVER AW17 . However, if you're not familiar with his brand, here are few things that you should know.

Robert Sever Design is a brand established in 2001. (OMG, I was only two!) and since then he created over 40 collections. In my opinion, he's very different from other Croatian designers. mostly because he's paying attention to details. As you can see on every piece that he created, quality materials and functionality is chosen over trends and, especially, fads. Sever is putting couture in Pret-a-porter creating clothes that will make everyone feel like they're on a runway, but still keeping it comfortable and easily wearable. It's not simple to classify him in one business model because his whole brand is in the middle of luxury and fast fashion retail. Designing something that's widely accepted while sticking up to brand's heritage is quite challenging, however Sever is doing it like a master.

Sever’s masculine dandy meets preppy style was evident throughout his AW17 collection with tweed military coats and distressed denim jackets the feature pieces over his more minimalistic attire underneath. The look was causal and relaxed, however finished touches with faint tartan scarves and faux fur collars added an element of completeness to the entire look.
